Link building is a science. Google and other major search engines rank your page on a few things like keywords and incoming links. If you have a lot of incoming links, you have more weight. The higher your weight, the more times you will come up in a search engine and the more traffic you will receive. Link building can be very complicated. The are several ways to build links.
-
Write articles and insert a back link to your website at the bottom of the article.
-
You can insert backlinks into your blogs or someone elses blog.
-
Get involved in forums and include the link to your website or blog in your signature. Post a lot! And post in many forums. Not just one.
-
Submit your link to directories (I have a huge list on the left column of this page).
-
Look for websites that are similar and ask them if they can link to your page. If they say no, tell them that you will also link to them if they can link to you. Ask Nicely!
-
Create pages that are lists, like 101 ways to, or top 10. People love these. Also, top 10 myths for something are good too.
-
Create lists with extensive resources and lists of experts in that field.
-
No one will link to you if you have lots of spelling errors! Spell check it.
-
Have a privacy policy, terms, and about me page on your webpage. This will build your trust level. Include a picture of yourself.
-
Use PPC(pay per click) to get targeted traffic.
-
Post an interesting survey on your page and post the results on the page.
-
Submit your link to paid directories, but only pick the best paid directories (listed in directories page in left column of this page).
-
Post a story on Digg with a link to the story on your website

-

-

-
Reciprocal link building (with relevant sites, not link trading networks and hub sites)
-
Rent some high quality links from a broker, website master, or text-link-ads.com
-
Sell something on E bay and give the profits to charity. The charity site will link to you.
-
Hold a contest on your website to attract visitors
-
Have a free tools section for people to use
-
Interview someone of high interest and post it on your website. It is viral and people will link to it.
-
When you link to other sites, keep these tips in mind.
-
Vary your link title text. Search engines like naturally gained links. A search engine will recognize it if you use the same title text on every webpage you are linking from.
-
The same rule applies to the website description!
-
Always link to sites that are related to yours. Linking to unrelated sites will not do much for you. Except for directories and articles, etc.
-
When linking, don’t just use your home page. Link to internal webpages as well. You want to make these links to look natural. Not everyone who is going to link to your site is going to link to the home page.
-
Try and get links from older web pages. Older web pages have more authority.
-
Get links on the top half of the web page and in the actual content of the page. Links at the header and footer are not as valuable.
-
Well there you have it. Stop reading this and go start making some cash with those techniques.
